Minutos de Arquitectura. Ibon Salaberria

The studio's main philosophy is based on understanding architecture as a conversation, as something that begins by talking, talking with clients with needs in order to find the conditions that shape one type of architecture or another.

This project involved designing conditions that would encourage all users of the building to participate.

An open process was developed in which teachers, staff, and students proposed framework ideas that created the conditions that later gave rise to the building we are in now.

I think the main challenge would be to use an existing building, which already had certain distances and dimensions, to which a new bay has been added, so that everything works together, as requested, as a flexible building over time, so that a new educational project could take place in an adaptable, changeable way.

That visitor or user must feel free to arrange the classroom or these open spaces in whatever way they need and, in some way, be able to mold them to their needs.

The STRUGAL S74RP OPTIMA system was chosen for this project because we believed it was well suited to both the climatic conditions and the design requirements envisaged for the project.

Working with STRUGAL has allowed us to work from the start of the project, not only choosing a product, but also adapting that product to changes in the project.

I believe that this type of collaboration between a company's technical service and the development of an architectural project is essential. In that sense, I think it was achieved, it was achieved perfectly in this case.
