We spoke with José Mª Carrillo to learn about the philosophy behind Carrillo Arquitectos | Forma y Espacio (CA FE). Carrillo Arquitectos was the studio responsible for Edomus, 63 homes in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, where solutions such as Strugal S53RP+, Strugal S60RP, and Strugal S125RP were used.

Founded in 2008 by architect José María Carrillo Rodríguez. At our architecture studio in Madrid, we focus mainly on developing residential, industrial, and public projects. The firm is known for its avant-garde style, which gives buildings a highly sculptural feel, for its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency through the use of different renewable energies in its architectural projects, and for its innovative design and execution procedures, such as the application of BIM methodology. Each of the projects developed by the architecture studio reflects the values, styles, technologies, and services that are part of the firm's DNA.
What is the philosophy of Carrillo Arquitectos?
The philosophy of Carrillo Arquitectos is to treat design as an integral part of functional and relational aesthetics and to promote sustainability and energy savings by applying it to the fields of architecture.
What was the biggest challenge you faced?
The biggest challenge is to carry out a project of a certain magnitude for 63 homes in the midst of a crisis, using renewable energy, in this case geothermal energy, with a very contemporary design.
