Minutos de Arquitectura. Antonio Galisteo, Álvaro Fernández Navarro y Francisco Camacho

We interviewed Antonio Galisteo, Álvaro Fernández Navarro, and Francisco Camacho, partners at GANA Arquitectura, to discuss the Victoria Brewery. A project executed with the Strugal S52 CR curtain wall system and Strugal SS15 sun protection slats.

This project sought to bring as much natural light as possible into the factory interior and create an innovative façade without losing the industrial look.

The Strugal S52CR lightweight façade system was the solution that enabled this objective to be achieved. A structure formed by mullions and transoms joined together with thermal insulation, offering different drainage and ventilation options. The result is a façade that connects industrial tradition and transparency towards the public with a strong brand presence, whose logo presides over the building. The Strugal Solar SS15 system was another of the solutions applied. These are high-performance, flexible sun protection slats which, thanks to the variety of finishes available, are well suited to the design developed by the project managers.

Thanks to the new Cerveza Victoria brewery, Malaga is experiencing a resurgence of industrial activity. The brewery is returning to its roots with a factory that is open to the city, where, in addition to the entire production and packaging process, office spaces and large areas have been set up for tastings and cultural events.

The Victoria Beer Factory project received the following awards:

  • Malaga Architecture Awards 2018.
  • Building of the Year 2018.
  • Nomination for Building of the Year organized by Archdaily.
