Location: Almería.
Architects/Firms: Martin Van Gelderen (architect in charge of the project design), Antonio García Bueno (project architect)
Systems used: STRUGAL S64RP, STRUGAL Solar, STRUGAL S52CR

In this episode of STRUGAL’s “Minuto de Arquitectura,” we visit the building housing the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Almería, a project designed to make better use of natural light, promote ventilation within the building, and reduce energy consumption.

During the interview, we spoke with Martín Van Gelderen, the architect in charge of the project, and Antonio García Bueno, the project architect, about the key architectural and technical choices that shaped this university building.

Visually, the building stands out for its clean lines and a brilliant white color that reinterprets Almería’s Mediterranean light. Its design is based on solutions intended to improve indoor comfort and adapt to the region’s climate.

For the building envelope, the project incorporates custom-made STRUGAL window and door systems, developed using aluminum profiles with minimalist lines, designed to maximize natural light and ensure the systems blend discreetly into the architecture.
